Camera M Manual


Apple Watch Controls

Camera M offers an Apple Watch extension to remotely use manual controls and capture images from Camera M running on your iPhone. Apple Watch Series 3 or later running WatchOS 4 or later is required.

How to Enable

  1. Open Watch app on iPhone

  2. Scroll down to 'Available Apps’

  3. Tap ‘INSTALL’

  4. After the installation, make sure it is in Installed on Apple Watch section

  5. Make sure Camera M is open on iPhone

  6. Launch Camera M on Apple Watch

Note: Camera M Apple Watch extension is not compatible with Camera M on iPad.

Overview

  • Tapping on Shutter button captures if Camera M on iPhone is ready.

  • Tapping on Manual controls button enables use of Digital Crown to adjust manual controls on iPhone.


Manual Controls

When Digital Crown is enabled via Manual controls button, following manual controls are possible depending on the currently active screen:

  • Focus screen - Manual focus

  • Exposure screen - Exposure bias

  • ISO and Exposure Duration screen - Exposure duration

  • White Balance screen - White balance temperature

Simply rotate Digital Crown on Apple Watch to adjust desired values. This function is extremely useful with macro photography or other situations where the iPhone is on a tripod and remote granular control is needed.


Timer

  • Touch and hold on Shutter button screen to access timer options.

  • These timer options are independant of Timer modes within Camera M on iPhone.


Golden Hour


Camera M Apple Watch extension includes the same Golden Hour tool that is present on iOS Today Widget. When swiped left from Shutter button screen, this incredible tool is available even if the Camera M iPhone app is not active.

  • Camera M Apple Watch Golden Hour tool uses device location to calculate important sun events automatically and accurately.

  • Upcoming events appear in orange color and past events remain in white.

  • Golden Hour is calculated preciously for 6 degrees of location of the sun before sunset.

  • Sun position indicator displays the current estimated sun position using sunrise and sunset times.


Tips

  • Make sure Camera M on iPhone is running and active before opening Camera M Apple Watch extension for controls.

  • Make sure the current location is recognized and updated for accurate Golden Hour times.

Troubleshoot

  • If Camera M Apple Watch extension displays ‘Launch Camera M on iPhone.’, make sure Camera M on the iPhone is launched and active. If the message is still displayed, even after Camera M on the iPhone is running and active, try the following:

    • Close Camera M on iPhone by removing it from App Switcher and relaunch.

    • Close Camera M on Apple Watch by removing from Dock and relaunch.

  • If sunrise and sunset times are not displayed or ‘Location Permissions Needed’ is displayed, please check Camera M location permissions in system settings on iPhone. Also, make sure the device is receiving GPS and cellular or Wifi signals to recognize the accurate location of the device.
